What are the activities and experience of the organization

Ihnilates tou fotos is informal youth group based in Trikala Greece working in the field of youth mobility, participation and facilitating youth awareness about social issues.It was founded in 2007 by the inception of a group of active young people who wanted to address the social issues which affect the youngsters in Europe.  The vision of the organisation is the promotion of youth mobility, youth involvement and participation, voluntarism and human rights.We also collaborate as volunteers in a parents association of people with disabilities which named “Elpida” . Activities: Key areas of the organization’s activities concern the defense of human rights, the organization of youth related projects such as youth exchanges and training courses, which can bring young people from Europe together, and the organization of local interventions, seminars and multimedia productions. It envisions a global and inclusive society, where citizens are equally empowered to contribute in the shaping of a world with less prejudice, discrimination and other forms of injustice.  IHNILATES TOU FOTOS.’s objectives and values are actualized in the society and the needs of the youngsters by:  • Promoting the values of non formal learning, voluntarism, active citizenship and democracy for the creation of a better future for the European youth; • Promoting human rights, solidarity and respect for diversity amongst youth and the society; • Involving minorities and immigrants into youth activities; • Utilizing arts as a tool for the cultivation and expression of youth; • Locating and multiplying the special cultural attributes of our societies; • Breaking down prejudices and stereotypes among the European countries and amongst youth.

 

What are the skills and expertise of key staff/person involved in this application?

Its staff members and volunteers come from very diverse backgrounds and educational paths. Its volunteers are cooperating with Ihnilatestoufotos constantly according to their interest and always based on the process of personal development. All of the young members of Ihnilatestoufotoshave a background on education, social sciences, management and finances and can assist in all phases of a project as they have built their knowledge and skills during the years through youth work, non-formal education, arts and project management. The president of the organization is a young psychologist with great experience in  the volunteer projects in local and European stage. The people who will be chosen to participate in this project are people who have expressed their interest to develop their skill and knowledge on the topic and they commit to involve in all steps of the project, from its development through the evaluation and the follow up.
